I created the sound piece 'Subway VLF, Cowcaddens to Buchanan Street' for the 2026 Radiophrenia festival. It was recorded between Cowcaddens and Buchanan Street on the Glasgow Subway with the natural radio receiver that has previously been shown in my exhibition V.L.F.. The receiver picks up radio waves far below the typical broadcast range. When used outside, it picks up radiation from the Earth’s magnetosphere, but when taken underground it picks up radiation emitted by the subway train’s motor, which changes sound as the train accelerates and deccelarates.
