Chloe Cavender

Artist's book made from photographs of the exoskeletons of four dead seahorses. The book explores notions of the body by photographing dead seahorses that have been passed down to me. Photographed in isolation, their exoskeletons become disembodied and removed from their natural state, where they serve to act as metaphors of the body, and its tensions between the beautiful and the abject.
